A Conversation with a man who chose "Infidel" as a name.

The following is a conversation with a guy who preferred to call himself  "Infidel"...
"Infidel" says:
Blood spilling ex. a guy killing his brother (bible) is different from saying "kill everyone who disagrees with what I say" (islam).
Qur'an:
“Slay the unbelievers wherever you catch them.” (2:291)
“Fight them, until there is no more dissent and religion is that of Allâh” (2:193) “The vilest of animals in Allâh’s sight are those who disbelieve.” (8:55)
“I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks (beheading) and smite all their fingertips off them.” (8:12)
“Verily, the unbelievers are unclean.”
(9:28)
“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the JIZYA with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” — Qur’an 9:29

Response:
First, there are no holy books in Islam, other than the Quran, the book of final revelation.
The rest of books are either the Hadith (Tradition, and prophets sayings, which vary, some are true some aren't), and different books for scholars.

Now comming to the important part, where you get some (incomplete) verses form the Quran, or you take some verses out of context and start waving it at peoples faces to prove that islam promotes violence...I write the following:
....................................................................................................................
“Slay the unbelievers wherever you catch them.” (2:291)
First of all....The reference is not correct, and this is only part of the verse!
unless you have a new Quran i dont know about?
The correct reference and verse are:
(And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.) 2:191
Now before we get to the meaning, you will probably find different transliterations, by different scholars, yet these are not the word of god, they are only an attempt to translate the meanings of the word of god, which is not the same case with the bible for example, where you will find different versions, and all are supposedly the word of god.

Now to the meaning:
This verse, is concerned with the muslims, that were thrown out of their houses( for embracing islam), where their rights where taken away from them, and where chased out of Mekka, more yet, they occupied their houses.
God Tells the muslims, that are in a fight or war with these "transgressing" infidels, to fight them back, and to throw them out of where they previously threw them out, in otherwords, take back their houses...So yes, they were given the right to fight back in order to protect themselves! Nothing is more fair and just than that.
....................................................................................................................
“Fight them, until there is no more dissent and religion is that of Allâh” (2:193)
Again incomplete, and out of context. The correct version goes as follows:

(And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors.) 2:193
Meaning: This comes in the same context of the previous verse, where the muslims are being fought and discriminated for embracing islam, so god permits muslims to fight back in order to have their rights of practicing Islam freely and not to be transgressed upon for their religion, and he makes it clear with "And religion should be only for allah" meaning that religion is only for god and not for them...Which is everyones right, to practice his or her own religion freely.
.................................................................................................................
(Surely the vilest of animals in Allah's sight are those who disbelieve, then they would not believe.) 8:55
If you you take the time to read the following verse in order to understand why god makes this metaphor:
(who make promises but break them every time, and who have no piety.) 8:56
I think the reason is clear, and god states clearly to whom he makes this resemblance!!!
............................................................................................................
“I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks (beheading) and smite all their fingertips off them.” (8:12)
Again, incomplete verse...The complete one goes as follows:
([Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip.")
Self explanatory, but let me elaborate:
In this verse, and in relation to the rest of the verses in the same context, god is reminding the believers how it is he who helped them, when they were in war with the disbelievers who were fighting them, and hence they were using their right in fighting back to protect themselves, they were much much less in number and they were scared, so god supports them with a thousand angels : (When ye sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): I will help you with a thousand of the angels, rank on rank.) 8:9
And not only that, but god makes the disbelievers scared deep dowb in their hearts, even though they are greater in number.
In this verse god is teaching people, that your power of belief in god, is much stronger than what you expect...That if you believe in god, you will always have god on your side supporting you.
.................................................................................................................
“Verily, the unbelievers are unclean.” (9:28)
Incomplete, the complete and the translation is not correct the arrabis says" in al moshrekeen" meaning, the Idolaters or the polytheists, not the "disbelievers"!!!
(O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise.) 9:28

Muslims must clean themselves if they have are unclean, and perform abolution which is another process that includes cleaning up, before entering the Masjid Al Harram, or the holy mosque in mecca. Idolaters, who take idols and several gods, as god explains are unclean, and hence must not enter this holy place, which is a place where only one god "Allah" is worshiped and praised.
....................................................................................................................
(Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.) 9:29
Finally!!! The only complete verse, "infidel" quotes!
In Islam a muslim is obliged to pay " zakat" which is a determined percent of anything he owns such as income, money, agricultural production... etc., in any form he wishes, to the "general safe".
The zakat is a form of tax on everything a muslim owns...in order to recieve public services, just like nowadays!
Now non muslims cannot be obliged to pay Zakat, because they are not believers, so god asks us to collect in a country ruled by muslims, a Jizyah, which is a determined amount of money (tax) inorder to receive the same services a Muslim receives....In other words...All must pay taxes, yet a muslim pays more , since he pays for different things...So all must pay taxes.
Now non muslims or disbelievers , who refuse to pay this tax, god asks us to fight them untill they go back to paying the tax!!!   Fair enough?
.................................................................................................................
Now this is all what "Infidel" had to quote from the quran, and i hope i have been able to make things clearer for every one....
