I head to the workers’ protest in Helwan’s metro station and arrive an hour late. They had already gone. Mohamed Adel (from college) denies anything’s going on. I go back home because I have some t-shirt work. Ahmed Fouda confirms the Helwan protests. I call Mohamed Adel for reassurance; he says he’s getting dressed to check. I meet Azza Sha3ban and another guy who used to work with Ma, Alaa Soweif and Amin Haddad. They tell us that the syndicator and the high positions of the syndicate have decided to write a statement and announce it publicly. They are inside along with the rest of the actors and all the ‘non-mehan-tamtheeleya’ are standing outside on the sidewalk. Aaser Yassin comes out and stands with Azza’s friends “feinek ya tante Hala!”. Someone comes out and shooes us away. We leave in disgust. Ma calls Mr. Hany and tells him not to go.
